• We believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and accept Him as our Lord and Savior.
  • We gather weekly at an open table, Christ’s Table.

  • All are welcome.

  • We accept everyone with joy.

When we say everyone is welcome we mean families, the LGBTQ community, every marital status, every socioeconomic status, persons with disabilities, immigrants, refugees, every ethnicity, all ages, to worship and participate fully. Whoever you are, you are welcome here!

Our Mission statement

To love as Jesus loved and serve God in all we do.

Vision Statement

First Christian Church is a diverse, inclusive congregation of believers affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We seek to love and serve God in all we do. We are a community of different cultures, aspirations, and points of view. We share a common belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior.

First Christian Church is centered on the Lord’s Table. We gather together as one family in Christ. As Christ welcomed all to His table, we follow him in offering radical hospitality. All are welcome.

Within and beyond the walls of the church, we strive to live the life Jesus taught. We teach our children to follow Jesus, and we nurture spiritual growth in all. We share generous offerings of love, service, and support. We celebrate God’s love and are ever comforted by God’s grace. We praise God with great joy.

Disciples of Christ beliefs

The Oneness of the Church

All Christians are called to be one in Christ and to seek opportunities for common witness and service.

Open Communion

The lord’s supper, or communion, is celebrated in weekly worship and it is open to all at the invitation of Jesus Christ.

The Bible

God’s word of love and reconciliation, equipping the church with the direction in mission and spiritual food of each person’s growth and maturity in the Christian faith.

The Ministry

Both ministers and laypersons lead in worship, service and spiritual growth, Men, women, and youth are encouraged to serve in all facets of congregational life.

Baptism By Immersion

In baptism, the old self-centered life is set aside, washed away, and a new life of truth is god begins Although disciples practice baptism by immersion, other baptism traditions are honored.

Freedom of Belief

As Disciples, we are called together around two essentials of faith: a belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and that Christians are free to follow their conscience guided by Bible study, the holy spirit and prayer. Therefore, we seek to extend both that belief and that very same freedom to others.
